What is a Brand Moment?
Definition
A Brand Moment is any contextual input that shapes perception of a brand, regardless of whether the brand owns it, initiated it, or is even aware of it.
While "brand moment" is commonly used in marketing to describe intentional experiences brands create (like a campaign launch or event), we define it more broadly as any momentāorganic or plannedāthat influences how people perceive a brand.
This includes:
- Athletes wearing or mentioning brands during competitions
- Products appearing in viral social media content
- Celebrities spotted using brands in everyday situations
- Brands featured in TV shows, movies, or streaming content
- Spontaneous viral moments at events or concerts
These moments happen with or without a brand's involvementābut they shape brand perception nonetheless. Our job is to capture, measure, and rank them.

REACH
Max 30 ptsTotal impressions across all platforms. Measures how many people were exposed to the brand moment.
ENGAGEMENT
Max 25 ptsLikes, shares, comments, and interactions. Measures how much people cared about the moment.
VELOCITY
Max 20 ptsSpeed of spread in first 24 hours. Fast-spreading moments rank higher than slow burns.
CROSS-PLATFORM
Max 15 ptsPresence across Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube. Multi-platform moments score higher.
BRAND VISIBILITY
Max 10 ptsHow prominently the brand appeared. Logo visibility, product mentions, and brand association clarity.
